Zavisha Time: Series of Black Liberation Dolls
 

These dolls developed by Zavisha Time in collaboration with BLMTO Freedom School tell the stories of freedom fighters past and present: Marie Joseph Angelique, Dutty Boukman, Nanny Grigg, Marsha P. Johnson, Leroy Moore, Mutulu Shakur, Wangari Maathai, Ericka Huggins, Alicia Garza and Patrisse Cullors. 

Black Power Triple Threat – BLMTO Freedom School Closing Musical Theatre Show

On August 10th, 2018 from 5:30-7:30pm at Yorkwoods Library Theatre, BLMTO FreedomSchool’s students (4-12) yr old presented songs, dance, and theatre show focused on Black resistance in Canada. This production was written by Faduma Mohamed, movement choreographed by Ravyn Wngz, songs written by Savannah Taylor, costuming by Diseiye Thompson, set design by Kike Otuije. BLMTO Freedom School’s closing show: Dreaming of Sunshine explores Black communities resistance in Africville, the resistance of Jamaican migrants to the live in caregiver program in the 1970s, and BLMTOTentCity in 2016.
