Dancehall- A Black Liberatory Movement

A dancehall video made by Melonie Hamilton and Kimiko Versatile in collaboration with Freedom School about the history of dancehall and its relationship to Black Liberation. The focus is on self-expression, dance as a stress release, body positivity, and dancehall as a voice for oppressed peoples within Jamaica. Using Kimiko Versatile’s video, children can learn some choreography and moves to Elephant Man’s Sesame Street.
